am Higginbottom Institute of
Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHIATS) is organizing the
“Annual Student Photo Contest” from November 10th to
February 05th, 2010 during the Centenary Celebrations of
the University. Amateur and professional photographers are invited
to submit high-resolution digital photographs in the following
categories:

Flora and fauna (including pets)
-
Campus (Building, Class rooms, Practical Labs)
-
People (Students, Teachers, Visitors)
-
Events (Convocation, University day or any other)
GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS:
-
Entrants submitting
photos for the contest should be a Faculty or Student of the
SHIATS.

The photograph entries
should contain original work of the entrant and have been taken
within campus of the SHIATS.

The pix SHOULD BE IN
JPGs format with at least 300dpi, and file names
must be in the following format:
StudentID_Photo_Title_Category

The photographs should
be submitted in the University Counter (Registrar’s Office) in
compact disc along with the completed entry form with a fee of
Rs. 100/- per contestant before 05th February,
2010.

Each contestant can
submit a maximum of 4 photographs (one in each category).

The results of the
Photo-contest will be announced during “AG-FEST” to be held on
12th February, 2010
-

that the SHIATS community may know your talents.

The contestant should
agree to the terms and conditions before submitting the
photographs.
TERMS AND
CONDITIONS:
-
After the submission of
photograph by the contestant, the University Management (UM)
holds the right to use the photograph in any form (hard/soft)
for publication or other purpose. None of the photographs will
be returned back to the contestant.

The contestant
(winning/non-winning) cannot claim any compensation for the
photographs submitted to the University, which is used in
original or modified form.

The Photo-contest
experts will select First, Second and third positions from the
photographs as per the criteria (artistic expression,
creativity, originality and quality). Further, many consolation
prizes to honor other best photographs in the order is also
available.
- The
organizers hold the right to disqualify those entries that do not
confirm the stated rules and criteria.
